Vane Lawn & Garden union FAQ

How and why workers unionized

Workers at VLG unionized so workplace terms could be negotiated collectively and represented through a certified bargaining agent. The formal process went through the B.C. Labour Relations Board, including certification and reconsideration decisions that are now public.

For the decision trail, start with the certification overview and the certification decision summary. For current negotiations, see bargaining status.

Is Vane Lawn and Garden unionized?
Yes. Vane Lawn & Garden Services (1981) Ltd. is unionized. The B.C. Labour Relations Board granted certification in 2025 BCLRB 57 (March 7, 2025) and dismissed reconsideration in 2025 BCLRB 213 (November 4, 2025). How can I verify that officially?
Click here or use the BC Labour Relations Board’s Certifications database and search VLG’s legal name ‘Vane Lawn & Garden Services (1981) Ltd.’. See the Public record page for quick steps.
I’m a prospective worker. Where can I find current job postings?
You can check VLG’s official careers page and their Indeed jobs profile. If you are considering applying, review union status and public records first.
Why doesn’t the company mention the union in job ads?
Some employers omit it. This site exists so job seekers can make an informed decision using public records.
Do I have to be ‘pro‑union’ to work here?
No. A union workplace means your terms and conditions are bargained collectively and workers have representation. Participation is your choice.
What if there’s no first agreement yet?
Certification still matters. The union–employer relationship exists, bargaining continues, and legal protections still apply.
Where do I go for help?
Start with your steward/rep. For official information, you can also consult the BC Labour Relations Board.
